At the Elizka Relief Foundation, we don’t view tourism merely as an industry. We view it as a powerful mechanism for environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and economic vitality. By connecting travelers with the tangible history of our people and the natural beauty of our landscape, we ensure that our heritage is not just remembered—it is protected.
Our Conservation Philosophy
We promote responsible travel that respects the environment and sustains the well-being of local communities. Our programmes are designed to create knowledge and understanding through active interpretation.
A percentage of proceeds from our heritage tours is directly reinvested into the restoration of riparian buffers and biodiversity monitoring in our target project landscapes. When our travelers visit a site, they are not just spectators; they are active contributors to the long-term preservation of that landscape.
Exploring Ghana: A Journey Through Time & Nature
Our tours are carefully curated to showcase the diversity of Ghana—from our coastal history to our deep forest reserves. In partnership with local Traditional Councils and government partners, we facilitate access to the sites that define the Ghanaian story.
Historical Landmarks & Cultural Heritage
Coastal Legacy: The Forts and Castles along the coast, from the shores of Beyin in the Western Region to the historic Keta in the Volta Region.
Asante Heritage: The ten remaining Asante Traditional Buildings in and around Kumasi, preserving the architectural and spiritual history of the Ashanti Kingdom.
Unique Settlements: The stilt village of Nzulezu and the ancestral Tengzug-Tallensi settlements.
Spiritual & Religious History: The Navrongo Catholic Cathedral and the ancient Trade Pilgrimage Routes of North-Western Ghana.
Natural Reserves & Wildlife
National Parks & Resources: Exploring the biodiversity of Kakum National Park & Assin-Attadanso, Nini Suhien National Park & Ankasa Resource Reserve, and the vast Mole National Park.
Sanctuaries: The Paga Crocodile Pond and the Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary.
Innovation in Preservation: Digital Heritage
Technology is a bridge to the past. We are exploring the use of 3D mapping and virtual reality to create digital archives of our most vulnerable heritage sites, ensuring they are accessible to global learners even if they cannot travel. This tech-forward approach ensures our history is preserved, even as we face the physical challenges of time and environmental change.
The Global Citizen: Educational International Tours
While we take pride in our local heritage, we recognize that to be global leaders, our youth must understand the global stage. We organize educational tours to heritage and ecotourism sites in countries such as Italy, China, India, Canada, and South Africa.
These tours are not vacations—they are benchmarking expeditions. They allow our youth to see how other nations manage their historical sites, leverage tourism for local economic development, and address the environmental challenges of the 21st century. By bringing these lessons home, our participants become better equipped to manage our own heritage assets and advance our national development goals.
Collaboration & Endorsement
“Our heritage projects are developed in close consultation with the Traditional Councils and the Asanteman Council to ensure the protection and respectful promotion of our ancestral sites.”
